Designer Look-A-Likes Part II

Happy New Year Everyone! 2010 is going to be a BIG year. A few days ago I read my 2010 horoscope by Georgia Nicols and well this year is going to be full of amazing opportunities. I hope you all had a wonderful NYE!

I honestly can't believe that 2010 is here already! I remember when Vancouver was waiting to get the results for hosting the Olympics and now we are a month and a half away. That's huge! I'm really excited for the Olympics to come to town. It's been a few years of anticipation. Everywhere you turn there are Vancouver 2010 advertisements, new buildings, a giant countdown clock, stores, mascots, commercials, videos, etc. It will be an insane month. I might not love it so much when our city is packed with people and I wont be able to drive anywhere, but I will just remember this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to have the Olympics in my hometown. :)

This is the second part of my Designer Look-A-Like post. I was once told that you shouldn't buy sale items because they're no longer in style. Sometimes that rings true! For example, hot pink OTK boots are not a wise purchase, but black leather below the knee boots are! Make wise choices when it comes to sale items! Don't just think cheap price cause if you think like that you will never wear them.

I don't know about you, but I love sequins. I love anything that sparkles :) especially diamonds but since we don't want to walk around with a shoe made of diamonds, sequins will have to do!

Miu Miu - Platform Pump - $950 SALE $637 - Neiman Marcus

Puckett - $90 SALE $59.98 - Aldo Shoes

When shoe-booties cut down on the ankle to slightly reveal the top of the foot it adds a little sexiness. I love great cuts that just flatter the foot. These Donald J. Pliner suede booties remind me of last seasons D&G shoe-booties. I love them! Then I came across an even cheaper version!

Donald J. Pliner - Cutout Suede Bootie - $390 SALE $261 - Neiman Marcus

Guger - $80 - Aldo Shoes

I have to support my fellow Canadian, Jerome C. Rousseau. As I have mentioned many times before he is one of my favourite designers (not just because he is Canadian ;). The Quebec native has officially made it to the big times. His designs are already getting knocked-off. That's a compliment!

Trossbach - $49 - Spring Shoes

I love Valentino's use of bows. I am such a bow person on shoes, aren't you?! I think they add a simple feminine cuteness to a shoe. Kate Spade makes amazing flats and purses but I have yet to try one of her pumps.

I think $300 for a pair of heels is fairly reasonable. I may be alone in thinking this... but I want them! Obviously there are differences between these Valentino's and the Kate Spade heels but I just love the bows!!

Valentino - Nappa Bow Bootie - $775 SALE $519 - Neiman Marcus

Kate Spade - Cammie Double-Bow Sandal - $295 - Neiman Marcus

HAHAHA I purchased those Aldo sequin pumps for NYE, they worked great with my frock; Surprisingly comfortable too..that could have been because of all the champagne consumed ;P Definitely would have preferred a shoe made of diamonds hahaha!

I love bows on shoes too! Very cute! And your list for "what to buy on sale and not", is very similar to mine ;-) Somethings will never date, so obviously that's where to spend :-) Happy New Year!!!
