Best Summer Accessory

I bought a fedora a few weeks ago. I was a little iffy on rocking it cause I felt a little g-pa but yesterday I decided to go with it.

I have never been complemented more then I was yesterday. People kept coming up to me asking where I got it from and saying how much they loved it! I was totally shocked. It also came in handy when the rains came and I wasn't prepared. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those people blessed with naturally straight hair so when my hair gets wet, it gets curly and not in a nice ringlet kind of way. Gross. All in all it saved me! :)

Anyway, I now agree with all the fashion magazines. Fedoras are the way to go this summer!!It's a must have and the best part is they look great on everyone!

These are a few I recommend:

This is the one I bought. It's really cheap but sturdy and I took the feathers out (thats what was making it g-pa).

Forever 21 - Straw Feather Fedora - $15.80 - Forever21

Top Shop - Linen Trilby Hat - $44 - TopShop Online

Bop Basics - Open Weave Fedora - $68 - ShopBop

Rag & Bone - Chambray Fedora - $115 - ShopBop

You can go pricey or you go get a cheap one. No one can tell the difference ;)

Where Has The Sun Gone?

Yesterday was a great day all around. I went for coffee with my sister and we gossiped while people watching at our favourite spot then I met up with one of my besties for dinner at Hurricane Grill. We went to dinner and it was sunny and warm so we contemplated sitting on the patio and taking in the rays but then we figured once the sun went down it would be freakishly cold, so we opted for inside. Turns out that was a smart move since a storm rolled in within minutes and people were darting everywhere to avoid the large golf ball size rain drops (no exaggeration there...).

I'm such a people watcher and yesterday I saw this woman, who I wish I took a picture of. She had long brown hair, blue boyfriend Ralph Lauren collared shirt, J brand jeans, and these shoes on:

Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain - Canvas Booties - $836.50 SALE - ShopBop

She looked killer and let me add she was just out for a stroll with her pooch. I envy those women who can throw on a pair of heels like I throw on flats. I love pumps but really when I walk Hudson I'm either wearing runners or flats. I love that those canvas booties can be worn with shorts or jeans. I personally love them with a pair of skinnies and oversized t-shirt.

Meet Hudson. He's my sisters d.o.g.! Isn't he cute? :)

Wild Thing

Nicole Richie is a mult-tasker. She had a baby, created her jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, then came the clothing line, Winter Kate and she has now added a shoe line. All her shoes fit her boho style, such as platform heels, wedges, moccasins and flat sandals.

I went into Atmoic Model yesterday and tried on a pair of her Hudson wedges (below). They are fabulous! You can pair them with your simple black dress for a classy night on the town, or add some colour and pair it with your favourite silk tank dress, maybe in a hot pink or teal! Add some spice with the zebra wedges and have fun! These shoes definitely bring out your wild side.

House of Harlow 1960 - Hudson Wedges - $250 - Atomic Model

My wish list...

T-Bags - Zebra Tunic Dress - $185 - ShopBop

House of Harlow 1960 - Peacock Cocktail Ring - $48 - ShopBop

Alexander Wang - Devon Open Toe Bootie - $525 - ShopBop

.The Show.

Think Pandemonium but just as the word not as the meaning cause last night went swimmingly! There was very little chaos which is extremely surprising for a student produced fashion show.

I worked the bar before and during the show which was a learning experience for me since I don't drink beer so I'm no pro at opening them. I ended up spilling some Sleeman's Honey Brown on my beautiful (Amanda Quesnel designed) dress :( Did I mention the dress was white?! I can be a tad clumsy sometimes, but everyone LOVED the dress and it was so nice to be able to tell people that Amanda designed it! She's very talented!

Thank you to all our vendors and sponsors! The Pandemonium show was a huge success.

Sheer Pandemonium

Yesterday, I spent the day running around picking up last minute necessities for the fashion show tonight! Oh my goodness, I can't believe its already tonight! I started school a year ago and I'm beside myself that its nearing an end.

As a class we chose to use Heritage Hall on Main Street for our show. I had never been inside it till yesterday and it's gorgeous. The hall is very aged so it fits our romantic gothic theme. We were inspired by Tim Burton but we didn't want to make it like Alice in Wonderland so we created a big twist on your typical Tim Burton.

{The Before}

Personally, I can't wait to see it! I got a preview of the clothes yesterday and well, I want to buy most of it! A good friend in the class took on the challenge of making a full line for the show. She is extremely talented! I'm wearing one of her designs tonight, so I will take lots of pictures.

Here is a preview of our amazing raffle baskets. Each basket is worth $1,000! We didn't chintz out on them :)

PS. Me and Andrea went to Burgoo Bistro for lunch yesterday. I must say, that was the best Irish stew I have ever had! Yum! I highly recommend it.
